Dave’s Nashville Hot Chicken 🥵🌶️ I’m pretty sure I could eat this 3 times a day, 7 days a week… but I’d end up walking around looking like the Nutty Professor 🫠 All I’m saying is, if me and Dave had a competition making Nashville hot chicken… I’d win EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.🤓 Ingredients👇 Marinade: * 2kg chicken breast or tenders * Black pepper * Celery salt * Onion powder * Garlic powder * Buttermilk * Pickle juice * Hot sauce * MSG * Salt Flour Dredge: * 1kg self-raising flour * Black pepper * Celery salt * MSG * Salt Nashville Seasoning: * 3 tbsp cayenne pepper * 1 tbsp paprika * 1 tbsp smoked paprika * 1 tsp onion powder * 1 tsp garlic powder * 1½ tsp chilli powder * 1 tbsp brown sugar * 1 tbsp MSG * 1 tbsp salt Method👇 1️⃣ Marinate the chicken with the buttermilk and all the seasonings overnight, or for at least a couple of hours. The longer it marinates, the juicier it gets. 2️⃣ Prepare two bowls: one with your flour mixture and one with water. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess drip off before coating it in the flour. Coat in the flour for about a minute, then dunk it into the water, let the excess drip off, and coat it in the flour one final time. 3️⃣ Once coated, let the chicken rest for at least 5 minutes. If you fry it straight away, I can guarantee the coating will fall off. 4️⃣ Heat your frying oil to 165°C and fry for 4–5 minutes. The exact cooking time depends on how thick your chicken is, so using a thermometer is the best way to know when it’s done. 5️⃣ In a separate pan, heat some oil to 160°C, then turn the heat off and stir in 2 tbsp paprika. This is the oil you’ll dip the chicken into before coating it with the Nashville seasoning. The paprika gives the oil a really nice nutty flavour as it gets toasted. Just don’t let the paprika burn—transfer it to another bowl if needed. 6️⃣ Once the chicken is cooked, dip it into the paprika oil, then coat it generously with the Nashville seasoning. Dave’s Sauce: It’s literally just the Nashville seasoning mixed with honey and a squeeze of lemon juice. That’s it. #fyp #nashvillehotchicken #friedchicken
