Ppl's lack of sympathy for Aang will never fail to amaze me. Some ppl in these comments are acting like he's evil for wanting to bring back his ppl. Ofc his judgment was clouded when he met Tagah and had the chance to bring back his culture. I don't think y'all understand the depth of his grief. This whole movie was about him learning to move forward while honoring his people. He owned the mistakes he made.

I think it does a really great job of setting up absent aang as a father! He made selfish decisions in his early adult years that carried into his parenting. And we see that in legends of Korra through his three kids. I think all these character decisions were so good.

I have got to say keeping his character flaw of feeling guilty for the loss of his ppl leading to him to make selfish decisions in order to redeem himself is so great, like this movie gave him the opportunity to actually let go of his own self hatred and guilt

The lack of sympathy for Aang is so insane to me. He was the last of the air benders, the only one left. He must’ve felt lonely, no matter how many people he had. When he FINALLY found someone to teach him about his history and himself that not even he knew, it must’ve been such a relief that no one else would’ve been able to understand. It was selfish, yes, but anyone else would’ve made the same mistake.
