let me be very frank here: not true. my mother never wanted me to be more successful than she was, unsealed trauma. my father never knew what he wanted of me. I found my own meaning, and have come to peace with the fact that those that were supposed to want the best for me were too hurt to know what that looked like or meant.

I mean, in a way, yes. But I’m not the son my parents wanted, and no child deserves a “welp he’s the one we got” childhood. And I wasn’t willing to change healthy parts of myself for partners. But I also should have tried harder for other partners, friends, my sibling. I also should try harder for myself. Life is grey and humans, as a species, have no purpose. Do your best, learn from your mistakes. Move on; and move up if you can.

To all those negative ppl in this comment section: the world doesnt care about you but that doesnt mean it's against you. Your family, friends, and the society will hold you accountable for your own independence and growth AND that doesn't mean they are against you. Yes, bad ppl are out there. Bad parents exist. Betrayal happens. But the entire world cannot function and exist to progress as it is right now if it is against EVERYONE.
