As someone that conducts A LOT of interviews, step 1 is actually showing up & on time, step 2 is staying on topic and not going on a ten minute tangent when I asked the simplest question. If I want an interview to take 45mins+ I’ll keep asking questions, otherwise just get to your point

The best thing you can do for interviews is pretend you don’t need the job. That way it comes across as a consultation where I’m happy to offer my services for you rather than me begging for a job.

I’d recommend writing that 1hr-30 min before NOT right before. If you’re anxious in interviews, you shouldn’t be cramming right before. Go for a walk, dance, water plants, anything else but trying to cram

One odd thing that’s helped me - lean back in my chair. It signals confidence but when I find myself stressing during and interview i remember to lean back a bit and it grounds me somehow

For the last point, what if you’re interviewing with someone that is extremely disinterested and overly serious 😭 I found that most interviewers don’t want to make conversation
