the number one really depends on where you are, in my hometown we say x-x-x-xxx-xx-xx, but in the capital of the state it is x-xx-xxx-xx-xx, and we say their area like x-xx too because its the way the people with tha area number say it so it stick here but everything else its said the first way

Numbers spelling can vary depending where you live, in my town we say 9-23-107-23-45 when I moved to CDMX I noticed the change, even my own number feels super weird saying it in pairs.

I mean it's been a while but I used to ride Greyhound buses home from college a few times a year and they never checked my bags in the US. As a kid we would ride to my parents pueblo from the border to GTO and sometimes our bags would get checked or have drug sniffing dogs at security checks.

I believe only people from mexico city do the two digits thing, "la lada" (the beginning of the number depending on your city) is either 55 or 56, the rest of the states have a three digit lada. for example they would go 1 23 4 56 78, or 1 2 3 4 56 78 depending on the state lol.
