Do you have to sterilize the thing that you’re holding prior to hand expressing the colostrum in there?

Is there a certain amount of colostrum that’s nice to have before baby comes?

Also, do you recommend the 4ml or 6ml syringes? Both are currently the same price on Amazon and seems like may as well go for the bigger ones but not sure if the smaller would be easier to feed from?

If you have high Lipase milk that affects the taste, does that also affect the colostrum?

Honestly for us it was so great, I starting leaking fairly early but after giving birth ai was taken to surgery and because I had taken several syringes of colostrum to the hospital they were able to feed her those for the 2 hours I was in surgery and then I was able to breastfeed once I was out

I had to supplement my little girl in the first few days due to her weight being low for giving birth at 41 weeks. Her sugar levels had to stay up to make sure she would not get lethargic. I’m so happy I collected colostrum in the end of my pregnancy! She’s 6,5 weeks old and thriving now! Weaning her from a nipple shield too and she’s doing amazing🩷

What are your recommendations for storage? Can you put colostrum from several days into the same collector? How long can you add to it in the fridge before it should be frozen? And then do you just transfer it from freezer to fridge to let it defrost when you go to the hospital to have baby? Currently 34 weeks and will probably be inducing around 39 weeks due to gestational diabetes!
