The real question is less about how cool or useful it is vs whether the school district bureaucrats will allow a budget to supply them to schools unless the kids live in a rich neighborhood.

YES- nonverbal communication researcher DREAM!!!! social interaction data on video AT SCALE. omg i want 1000!x. ok yea, for real. even in mba classrron, "participation" is is vague and dependent on humans' flawed impressions and recollections. a standardized approach based on mathematically derived scores that are at least somewhat objective- if nothing else, CONSISTENT. a nonverbal behavior researcher's dream.

True story... I worked on a prototype version of a similar classroom technology in the 90s. it was a collab between GaTech and GaState universities. Students and faculty loved it!

Won't the data from that revolutionize teaching and curriculum over time? They will be able to associate lecture performances with test scores over time for example but I'm probably only thinking of a weak example.... They will have the majority of data regarding the most critical period of human development.. that can be used for way more than teaching...
