One thing that people don’t talk about enough is how Hank breaks generational trauma. Cotten was awful to him and his mother. And Hank told himself that he never wanted to be that father to his son.

for me it's the fact that Hank is so uncomfortable telling his son he loves him, but the second it's about having pride in his child he immediately wants to clear up confusion around it.

It’s funny. My dad hates this show, but this is exactly my dad. I’m thankful to have such a great father.

When my dad asked me if I was having...relations...with my first serious boyfriend when I was 18, I asked him if he was ashamed of me. He told me there was never anything I could do that would ever lessen his love for me. Then he made me promise to tell him if that guy or any guy ever hurt me, because he'd kill him. Then he got me birth control. Texan dads are not great at expressing emotions, but they are the best 😂

Bobby is what Hank could have been when he was a child if he didn't have an abusive parent.

I got my septum pierced and my Hank Hill ass dad came over to tell me about some bad news and saw it and when I asked if he loved me any less he went “no nothing could make me love you any less, except maybe an eyebrow ring.”

Hank is such a good example of ending generational trauma. His father was a heartless mean asshole and regardless of that he makes sure to never pass that on to Bobby

early season Hank loved his son more than late season Hank; verbally. like Bobby said it goes: America, Peggy, Bobby, Propane. don't you ever forget it.

Garbage here and there :
Did I make this up cause I can’t find it. It’s a scene where Peggy lets Bobby know that the reason Hank is so proud of Bobby is because Bobby was able to exist despite how impossible it seemed because of hanks small urethra. To Hank Bobby is incredible because Bobby was a miracle child.
