POV: You and your dermatologist are celebrating because your stubborn armpit decided to behave for once. 😂 If you have HS, you know exactly what I mean when I say this feels like a BIG deal. My armpit has been the definition of unpredictable. It’ll look like it’s finally calming down, give me maybe 24 hours of peace, and then immediately decide to start draining, getting angry, and reminding me who’s really in charge. 🙃 So when my dermatologist and I realized it was actually giving me a little bit of a break… we had to celebrate. These moments might seem small to other people, but when you live with a chronic condition, progress looks different. Also, a little reminder: I don’t only get injections when I have an angry, painful flare. Part of my treatment plan is continuing these injections even when things are calmer because they help target the underlying inflammation and work on breaking down some of the stubborn scar tissue that HS leaves behind. HS isn’t just about the flares you can see. There’s so much happening underneath the surface. So today, we celebrate the tiny wins. We celebrate a calmer armpit. We celebrate working with a dermatologist who listens.
