Last time I went through a layoff I made it my personal mission to extract my entire team of 5 to new, better jobs within 6 months. I succeeded and the entire function had to be rebuilt from scratch 🥰

When I got laid off I was told on a call with my boss and the HR Director. The HR director and I had only met twice, both times because I was being promoted for “exceeding” performance expectations. After they gave me the news they asked if I had any questions, and I knew people above me were laid off too. I asked if he was safe, he said yes. Then I asked how he was doing. He and the HR director broke down in tears, and we all just cried together. I’ve moved on to bigger and better things now, but I still think about that moment a lot.

henry ford health fired my mother after 9 years of her fighting and actually getting healthcare for at risk youth and minors in detroit and she did, she brought so much peace to so many millions of kids and saved lives, all just to be canned because they didnt see the need for more care in Detroit :/

Yeaa I had a feeling layoffs were coming, so I started a side hustle while I still had a paycheck. A few months later, I was laid off after vacation.
