They’re gonna put even more people on buprenorphine. I take buprenorphine without the naloxone, but it’s so so so so bad for your body in the long run.

A ban like this is going to cause people to die. They are going to seek street drugs and get fent and die. And I say this as someone who was severely addicted to 7OH. A ban is not the answer.

im a single parent with my own house, two dogs and a good manual labor job. Yeah I took a pill 3 times a day because it relived my aches and made me feel happy. Im so scared that Im going to lose everything now. Yeah its stupid of me to take something that gives withdrawal without but I wish I could have made that choice instead of the government

Coming from a corrections nurse, the detox from Kratom is almost as hard on a person as fent and there is no good treatment. There is also no real test for it so it is super easy to lie about using it, giving me no way to get ahead of the detox.

A lot of people are going to die because of this ban. They’re going to go through terrible withdrawals and turn to the black market for relief. 😞

I am an ER nurse practitioner and I’m sooo glad they are doing this. I’ve seen several people come into the ER with withdrawals just from 7oh. It’s crazy that it’s unregulated. Also, as an ER NP… I am not going to have a very good day on aug 6 😅

The WDs from 7-OH is an absolute horror show that lasts for well over a week and the ERs are going to have a massive uptick in pts in the worst possible way. I feel terrible for all affected.

I think the methadone issue is a bigger issue and it’s legal. I’ve seen people sale their souls and lose their teeth over it. I tried to get my ex husband in rehab to get off of it and they wouldn’t accept him.

7oh is bad! Really bad! The withdrawal is the same or worse than fentanyl and that’s from the mouth of many people who have been through it. Why was this ever allowed to be out I don’t know

SUD inpt rehab nurse here 🙋♀️- we are not prepared for this at all. Between the horrible 7OH withdrawal and then the people switching over to H and Fen…it’s gonna be soooooo bad.

They’re gonna ban it, get it FDA approved, and then charge hundreds of dollars for it. They’re not upset that people are using it; they’re upset that they’re not getting a cut of the profits

Yes, let’s ban more drugs. That always stops people from using them.

Alcohol and tobacco are also addictive and dangerous to oneself and others yet they dont ban that… really wish they would stop policing what people put in their bodies and focus more on educating people of the risks instead.

I believe a driving factor of why there’s never a focus on strengthening programs to help people through the experience of withdrawals after restrictions are put into place, is how the criminalization of a drug fuels the prison industrial complex. Why help these people, when they can be put into the system to help line a shareholder‘s pockets with taxpayers dollars?
