I've lived in the North East my entire life (55yrs) Nor Easters in the winter and hurricanes in the summer are expected and we have learned to adapt and prepare for them. Each region of our country faces their own challenges and with planning, can in many cases prepare for the worst. When that planning is not adequate for the severity of the storm, fire or disaster we come together and support those in need whenever possible 🥰

We pick the state depending on what disaster we are comfortable enough to live with. I’m not good with tornadoes but I live in California I’m OK with earthquakes and fires.

Most of us were raised around these situations and it’s just normal life to us.

We aren’t scared we just stay prepared. If the unimaginable happens we immediately come together to help our neighbors

It’s one of those things, we can’t control the situation, but we can be prepared.

In some states you have some of each, I think the only thing Oklahoma doesn’t have is hurricanes. When I was growing up we didn’t have earthquakes but now we have those also, so I guess we will probably have hurricanes in the future. You can’t live in constant fear so you adapt.

Grew up around it and my grandparents taught me how to watch the sky and smell the weather changes. Nothing to worry about until you need to take action. Still don’t worry.

it IS just another day. Our house burnt down 11 days after it was finished. We built another one. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

First, I believe in my Almighty Creator🙏🏽 Second, we have amazing first responders that are trusted along with being built, tough, and knowing what to do in such situations if they were to occur. All of these beautiful and amazing national parks that you have so enjoyed have been created over time by the force of mother nature. I cannot live my life with such greatness by worrying about what mother nature is going to do next.

Well, I live in WA state, we have so many “threats” from nature it’s crazy. Earthquakes, floods, drought, fires, weather issues, active volcanos, bomb cyclones, rain, rain & rain…it goes on & on. We learn early how to survive.
