@erica354798: It's okay if you don't understand how I communicate but it's not okay to suggest that Deaf people should give up sign language. Sign language isn't a backup it's a complete language and an essential part of how many Deaf people communicate, connect and express themselves. Every Deaf person is different. Some can speak clearly some speak differently and some don't use speech at all. That doesn't make sign language any less important. Instead of asking Deaf people to stop signing because it's hard for you to understand, why not learn some sign language?
