Exactly one year ago, this was me. 📍 July 30, 2025 @ Ilog, Negros Occidental This video was taken during my 3rd day of onboarding training as a Construction VA. What’s crazy is… Hindi pa ako full-time remote worker nito. Pagod? Oo. Mahirap? Sobrang hirap. Pero looking back… The truth is, wala akong remote work experience noon. Looking back, I realized these 5 things gave me that opportunity. 1️⃣ I invested in my skills. I spent time learning the tools and understanding how the industry works. 2️⃣ I built a killer resume that highlighted my value. 📄 Hindi lang siya listahan ng previous jobs. I focused on showing employers how my engineering experience could help solve their problems. 3️⃣ I optimized my LinkedIn profile. 💼 Maraming recruiters don’t just check your resume. They also check your online presence. 4️⃣ I applied even when I didn’t feel ready. 🚀 Ito siguro yung biggest lesson ko. Feeling ko noon, kulang pa alam ko. Pero na-realize ko… Baka walang araw na mararamdaman mong 100% ready. So instead of waiting… I took my shot. 5️⃣ I prepared like I already had the job. 💻 Every interview. Every assessment. Every training. I showed up prepared because I wanted to prove that taking a chance on me was the right decision. Fast forward to today… Today marks one year with @SmartSourcing USA and one year as a Construction VA. 🎉 Grabe. So if you’re an engineer who’s thinking… “Wala pa kasi akong experience.” “Hindi pa yata ako ready.” “Baka hindi ako matanggap.” I hope this reminds you of one thing. You don’t need to know everything before you start. Sometimes, all you need is the courage to apply. The skills? You’ll keep building them along the way. Happy 1st anniversary to my Construction VA journey. 🤍 Here’s to more learning, more growth, and hopefully inspiring more engineers to take that first step. #ConstructionVA #CivilEngineer #RemoteWork #WorkFromHome #CareerGrowth
