The church has genuinely lost the plot and placed marriage on a pedestal and I’m so sick of it. And tbh it’s not biblical it’s cultural and they don’t even see it. People forget that in Genesis, God literally told Eve that apart of her curse would be that she will desire a husband and he will rule over her. A part of the CURSE. And let us not forget that Paul literally says in Corinthians it is better NOT to marry, in fact it’s a good thing. Unless you have a problem with self control. 1 Corinthians 7 says that marriage basically signs you up for struggle and that “one who is married is concerned with the things of the world”. Your relationship with God is actually divided by marriage, it can literally consume your life.
