Watching the entire process closely reveals something very different from the frightening and misleading picture often painted about Yoruba spirituality. For generations, many indigenous practices have been misunderstood, condemned and misrepresented through the influence of foreign religions. Yet what we witnessed was order, prayer, reverence, community and a sincere spiritual connection. This is not an attack on Islam or Christianity.
