That ayah was spoken abt the disbeliever. Go back to the Quran and read it well how it tells you to treat your parents. And if they are amongst the disbelievers you still befriend them in this world and don’t abandon them. For those that their parents are abusive mentally or physically or both yes distance yourself but with respect and fear of Allah swt. But for those who love to victimize themselves and think that gives them the right to disrespect their parents is a different level of hypocrisy and are really scary. May Allah swt guide us all 🤲🏻

I’m a revert and my parents are against it and I’ve spent some not so nice months between insults and fights. Alhamdulillah im an adult and live by myself so I don’t have to endure that every day and I can practice my religion in peace. My mum hates me wearing hijab though so I have resorted to only seeing her in my home. It’s hard cause we used to go everywhere together but inshallah she will understand one day.

Sometimes it's our own family who abuses us, belittle us, envy us, take our sparks out and make our lives miserable...people who don't support us when we need their help the most..Alhamdulillah, had it been that my heart is not attach to ALLAH SWT my sujood and dua pushes me to live each day and gave me hope to continue this life I have.
