When Covid hit and I became isolated from my very conservative very Christian family … I started reading and watching different news sources and explored things I would have otherwise been judged for exploring. Caused an entire deconstruction for me and I am now the black sheep for challenging everything I was taught to believe.

Most Americans are only Christian bc they were born in America. If they were born in India they’d be Muslim

I must be the exception to that rule. I grew up in a very rural conservative Christian community and household. From a young age I had doubts about religion and my family’s conservative political beliefs. I am now a liberal af atheist and the black sheep of my family. It is possible to choose your beliefs regardless of your environment.

This is why I started listening to and reading content that I didn’t agree with. It’s how I grew as a person

I was raised Catholic and now I’m a leftist-athiest. When I got out of my echo chamber I realized not only how crazy my community’s beliefs are, but everyone else. We’re surrounded by a lack of academia and empathy.

yep. same with goals, dreams, fears. everything is relative. your experience of the world is relative to everything elses. when you open yourself to true self reflection you realize how linked everything and everyone really is at all times.

I got into an argument with a Christian because he refused to accept the fact that the vast majority of adherence to a religious belief was based on the religious belief they were born into.
