When Covid hit and I became isolated from my very conservative very Christian family … I started reading and watching different news sources and explored things I would have otherwise been judged for exploring. I will make a counterpoint to this. I grew up in the same house in a small town with my sisters the same parents we had the same teachers. Our environment was the same. We have the same access to books, we grew up before the Internet. We had the same access to television. Our environment in terms of what we were put in was for all intents and purposes the same. We could not be more different politically. It’s not just the environment you are placed in. It is what you do with the resources in the environment you are placed in in our circumstance. It’s easy to say this because we are white and we have the same baseline privilege. We are different politically not because of our environment, but because of what we chose to do within our environment.

I beg to differ. I was raised in a very conservative family and a family that disowned me because I asked why. I think if you look at a lot of cycle breakers we ask why if we just take everything we're shown in the beginning as gospel that's not how that works. I'd also like to look at the book you are talking about and see if it includes neurodivergence or even delineates since we are more likely to question things and not follow social norms
