@60minutes9: In 1990, 60 Minutes took a dangerous journey to Antarctica to document a group of men attempting to traverse the frozen continent with no manmade transportation. Instead they travelled with huskies to minimise their carbon footprint and raise awareness about climate change. One of the men, British expeditions Geoff Somers, took charge of logistics on the expedition using his vast experience with the British Antarctic Survey. Somers has died at the age of 76, leaving a legacy in polar exploration. Watch the 60 Minutes story from 1990 on YouTube.
