Max always seems more than happy to just have you near him so I'm pretty sure he's not too bothered about going away somewhere and Lily seems to me to be a very grounded young lady and id imagine she's also very happy to just have some quality time with you ,doubt she will even care if you're not away somewhere!! Give yourself a break ,bigger picture is you're doing what you're doing for them in the long run ,grab some nice coffees /hit chocolate/buns and have a few days out somewhere
