🥬Homemade Probiotic Rich Kimchi 👇👇 ❤️save this video so you can make your own gut healthy ferment! 🥬kimchi - a traditional Korean side dish - is one of my favorite ferments (and foods) of all time. It’s sour, salty, and packed with beneficial bacteria from the fermentation process. 😯if you have gut problems, adding in fermented foods can be a great way to support a healthy gut microbiome. 🥒this can improve so many things from digestive issues to acne to hormonal problems. Healing you gut is key and using food is a great way to do that! for this simplified recipe you need: * 2 heads Napa cabbage, roughly chopped * ½ cup sea salt (I use @redmondrealsalt ) * 2 cups water * ½ yellow onion, roughly chopped * 8 cloves garlic * 2 inch ginger, peeled * ¼ cup gochugaru (Korean chili pepper flakes) * 1 tbsp fish sauce 1️⃣Place cabbage in a very large bowl. Dissolve the sea salt in the 2 cups of water and pour over cabbage and combine with your hands. Let this sit for 2 hours until the cabbage is wilted. 2️⃣Blend the onion, garlic, and ginger with 1/4 cup water until combined. Pour into a small bowl and mix in the gochugaru and fish sauce. 3️⃣Once the cabbage has wilted, drain the water and rinse the cabbage a few times to remove the salt. In a large bowl, toss the cabbage with the red pepper seasoning mixture. You can also add in some shredded carrots and green onion here. 4️⃣Tightly pack the mixture into a large glass jar and place a fermentation weight on top to keep the cabbage submerged in liquid. 5️⃣Place a lid on the mason jar(s) and leave out at room temperature for 1-4 days until it reaches your desired taste, then store it in the fridge! 🍜Add it as a side to any dish, or add it to a soup or stew as is traditionally done in Korean cuisine.
