Honestly I feel like the game was over as soon as it became free to play. Going from free passes and item shop items to a micro transaction filled shop with very bad free items and only getting a single pass for free sorta made me stop playing.

Epic games buy popular games just to waste potential on it for example they bought rocket league and did almost no major changes up until now bc they announced unreal engine 6 with rocket league but that still isn’t out yet.
