One day, her aunt told her that they were going to attend a wedding in Saudi Arabia. Leyla initially refused to go. However, the bride contacted her and said, “My wedding cannot happen without you.” Because of this, Leyla agreed to travel. They travelled together, but instead of taking her to Saudi Arabia, her aunt took her to Dubai. After staying there for three days, she was then taken to Somalia and handed over to another aunt. Leyla says that she was still a child at the time, had no home address, and did not fully understand what was happening. As she grew older and became an adult, she was married to a man without her consent. She says she experienced abuse, neglect, and a lack of care during her marriage. During that time, she gave birth to 12 children. Leyla is now seeking justice for what she says she has suffered and wants her case to be heard fairly.
