I really thought I could hide my size in selfies. 🙈 Looking back now, it’s kind of funny I believed that, but at the time, I thought I was hiding and I thought it was working. So, it felt safe. 
It was part of my pattern. Avoiding reality, neglecting the truth, and staying away from of any self-reflection about my physical health. I wasn’t just trying to hide my size from other people, I was avoiding how unhealthy I’d become for myself. I didn’t want to face how far I’d let things go. I didn’t want to admit how uncomfortable, drained, complacent, and hopeless I felt. But eventually, I had to stop pretending and start making better choices. Because you can’t change your life if you don’t first accept it needs changing. Yes, weight loss changed the way my face looks. But more than that, it changed my life. It helped me discover parts of me I’d never explored — like my confident, energized self. And it helped me reconnect with the parts I had buried — the hopeful, dreamer in me. It didn’t just reveal more of my facial features. It revealed more of who I was meant to be all along. I love every version of me, but I feel most at home as this version.
