as long as monte carlo has a good expected value and you have positive drift its good enough for retail. however institutional is different. I am currently in a quantitative analysis stream in uni and what I can say is they set you up for institutional. all Im saying is if you have a strat with a positive drift good expected value its good enough. an easy one to learn is ORB but the parameters urself you need to test and look at how it might be able to survive certain market regimes

If you have a zero ev strategy, shouldnt these only be applied to prop firm challenges bc of their convex payout structure? I.e if you lose 2k on a prop firm its not actually 2k its 50 dollars for entering and if you win 3k you win 3k if you manage to pass all their bs rules

The only way orderflow can work is as a Reaction system to validate or invalidate levels set by Optionflow or smth else. so basically orderflow Inference with L3 data to find out whats going not, not what's going to happen next. and the best way of doing that is by automating orderflow but it required lots of maths, data , money and time which 99.99% of retail traders don't have.

Edge can absolutely be obtained from level 2data same could be set for options flow and macro economics yet the difference you fail to mention is this data directly shows involvement
