We didn’t have any sirens go off, except for on our phones and THAT was plenty enough to make the hair on my arms stand up! I’m 31 years old and I’ve never heard a siren warning except for at the river when their wash a flash flood warning. But I was super young when that happened. Sirens didn’t even go off during Helene 😞

forgive me .. I'm originally from Nashville TN .. but the mountains are not supposed to get tornados ? I know they ain't supposed to get hurricanes but do you mind explaining that to me I'm just curious I discovered these mountains in 2020 so I'm wanting to learn every little thing possible thanks 🙂⛰️⛰️⛰️♥️🙏

That first picture is literally my mamaws bridge! She’s diabetic with a pacemaker. My 8 year old disabled sister also lives with her and now the only way in and out is cut off! 😭

Our power didn’t come on till almost 9 this morning. It was out for 14 hours! Never have power lost for that long!! It was crazy!

I was frantically trying for 3 hours to get home to my dogs in Marshall, from work in Asheville... Yesterday was scary in general obviously for the whole community- but especially after Helene… and the fact that we’re not supposed to be having tornadoes in WNC.😔

For those saying the mountains do not get tornadoes are mistaken. I’m 55 & grew up in the foothills of NC. My family lives in WNC & ETN and yes there have been tornadoes before Hurricane Helene. My first experience I was 4 or 5, another when I was about 9 or 10, and I remember my family having one in Erwin TN it literally lifted one of the houses off of it’s foundation & sat it down beside it. I am Praying that everyone is alright 🙏🙏🙏
