From this physical prison, he was a horrifying sight: a deformed, child-sized figure with a bulbous, oversized head, skin covered in weeping sores and blisters, his only functioning eye a piercing, alien yellow-green that glowed with unnatural intelligence, his body so frail that even the slightest touch would cause him agonizing pain, and he communicated through a synthesized voice that echoed from his mechanical legs. But from this living hell, Rudy's only escape was his extraordinary, almost supernatural intellect, a mind that processed data and formulated strategies faster than any supercomputer, which he used to construct a powerful, orange, humanoid robot drone equipped with advanced weaponry, flight capabilities, and sensory arrays, through which he could finally interact with the world, presenting himself to the public and his teammates as a logical, emotionless artificial intelligence rather than a disabled young man. This robotic persona, with its formal vocabulary, its detached, analytical approach to every conversation, and its complete lack of visible emotion, was so convincing that even his teammates on the original Teen Team, whom he led with tactical brilliance and strategic foresight, believed he was a machine, a perception that often led to dehumanizing comments, dismissive attitudes, and a complete misunderstanding of the lonely, desperate soul trapped within the pod. His leadership during the Flaxan invasions, where his strategic scanning and real-time analysis of the enemy's temporal weakness proved invaluable, saving countless lives and turning the tide of battle, caught the attention of Cecil Stedman, the ruthless director of the Global Defense Agency, who recruited Robot to build and lead a brand-new team of Guardians of the Globe following the original team's brutal murder at the hands of Omni-Man.
