@k24tech: I turned my Z Fold 7 into a camera monitor and it actually works! Sony's Monitor and Control app quietly turns any Fold into one of the better external monitors on the market. Open the Z Fold 7 flat and you get a genuinely large screen to check framing and focus on, which is a real upgrade over squinting at the tiny screen on the A7V itself. The wireless connection is the headline feature. No cables between camera and phone means you can walk around, check angles from a distance, or hand the phone to someone else to monitor while you are in frame. You also get proper control through the app, adjusting exposure, focus, and settings remotely instead of walking back to the camera every time. It is not perfect though. Wireless introduces a small delay between what the camera sees and what shows on screen, enough to notice if you are chasing precise focus. The connection can also drop if you wander too far or walk through a wall. For anything critical, there is a wired option straight through USB-C, which fixes the lag and the dropouts at the cost of losing the freedom to move.
