I am an older woman,62, and have walked the Camino a number of times. planning another one in Sept. did you know you can ship your excess luggage to Santiago and pick it up when you get there. so worth it. look up Casa Ivar if you're interested. keep going girl, you got this, one step at a time.

Per the kitty it will help. Spent over a month in the Balkans this spring with the only plan in place being the flight over so I understand the finding a place to stay that meets your needs. Kinda part of the fun but at times not. How’s your leg?

Figuring out the hostel/accommodation thing was one of the most challenging parts of my Camino, especially at first. It does seem like weekends and sometimes holidays that I wasn’t aware of were the hardest times to find hostels. And you were right if you have billions of dollars it’s not a problem at all. But most people are on a budget! I’m glad you found somewhere!

I say it’s worth it for the experience to splurge for one night. You’ll most likely never be back there and seeing something off the beaten track could shake up the routine for you 😏

You could give the fb group host a sister a try. You might find a sister in the area to host you. In July and August the hotel are always expensive. 😅
