As someone from both NYC and LA, I feel like the beauty standard in the more affluent parts of both cities is more of a high-end, modelesque, classy but still hot aesthetic, not really the BBL, Fashion Nova, SHEIN, Instagram model aesthetic. The difference is that LA and NYC still value unique and fresh faces with little to no work done high fashion beauties who don’t necessarily fit perfectly into the male gaze. Miami, on the other hand, is where you’ll see more of the rapper/athlete’s girlfriend aesthetic so women who may be gorgeous and model for fashion nova and oh Polly , but who realistically couldn’t model on a runway in Milan or Paris, but they can walk for Miami swim week instead.
