@vatiz.sf: Today I visited the Department of Passports in Tripureshwor, and I was shocked by the condition there. Hundreds of people were waiting in long queues for 7–8 hours, many without eating or drinking anything, just to complete their biometric process. Some people said they had also come the previous day, but their passport work was still not completed. The office was overcrowded, with gutka stains covering the walls, garbage scattered around, and poor overall cleanliness. It made me wonder what the purpose of filling out the passport application online is if people still have to spend an entire day waiting in line. The government should improve the appointment system, increase staffing, and make the process more efficient. Additionally, if citizens have already completed biometric registration for their National ID, that biometric data should be securely reused for passport services instead of requiring people to repeat the same process. Public services should save citizens’ time and provide a clean, organized, and dignified experience.
