You know much better than I do, so I would like your point of view. I live in South Jersey and I am hearing that Trenton is trying to float the idea of regional elementary schools. This would be accomplished by forcing smaller towns to close their elementary schools and merge. However I fail to see how this will really save money or benefit students. I see the smaller town laying off the entire school staff creating a loss of jobs. A select few may have jobs in the new school. I see the smaller town selling off the school property. I see the town merged into having to build an entire addition to a school to deal with the increase in students which will increase the tax burden on all towns involved! (I doubt the state would contribute) In my experience the state creates problems but never is part of the solution! I see more costs for student transportation, larger class sizes instead of more classrooms and more teachers. Of course they would hire more teachers aides in order to justify the larger class sizes. All while claiming they are improving education, cutting costs and using resources more efficiently!

I don’t mean to be obtuse, but it sounds like you said we shouldn’t be fighting the fact that non-residents are being registered to vote. I hope my interpretation is wrong as that doesn’t feel like what you believe.

Seniors should not have to pay School tax. Once you turn 65 that should be waived.

Why is the state of New Jersey sending $628 million to Israel every year. Who started this? Why are we sending money to Israel? Our government already does it this is on top of what the government send them. Florida should be even matter because they’re at $1.3 billion to Israel. We want to fix our state we quit sending money to a foreign nation on top of the money that our tax dollars already go there for.

Small towns need to combine into larger townships. 15 individual districts covering what should be 1 regional school district is the issue. It leads to higher costs for each small district vs a regional which has more leverage on purchasing healthcare and can reduce admin bloat

My taxes went up $1,200 last year and $1,200 this year. Big part of this is NJ having $3.8B in Medicaid aid cut and $139M in other aid cut. Then throw the cuts to healthcare subsidies for the ACA plans, which caused millions to drop coverage and those that kept it or having insurance through other plans and employers, to make up the difference in profits for the insurance companies.

Thank you for the bad news this morning. I haven’t received my notification letter from Neptune yet. I can only imagaine. 45% increase in 3 years. $18 k rn. Can’t sell. I’d give too much to the government. How can they justify school increases. Buildings are empty. Class sizes are smaller than private schools. Results are dismal. Forget about government of, for or by the people.

My town taxes went up 50%!! Was paying just under $10,000 and just under $15,000! 🤬. My husbands company folded during Covid and he had to take a much less paying job. We now have to sell. Been here since 1998.
