@huckmagazine: On Saturday, the streets of central London became a sea of colour, resistance and celebration as an estimated 150,000 people joined @London Trans+ Pride 🏳️⚧️ – making it the largest trans pride march in the world. Inspired by @Trans Pride Brighton – the first ever trans-specific Pride event in the UK – the London march has grown dramatically since it first drew 1,500 people in 2019. “We thought things were going to get better and better. It got to 2015, 2016 and things started to go backwards,” Brighton Trans Pride cofounder @Fox Fisher tells Huck According to the @ILGA-Europe Rainbow Map – which ranks and measures European countries based on their laws and policies that affect LGBTQ+ folk – in 2026 the UK was the 22nd best country to live in for queer people out of 49. In 2015, the UK was ranked first. “To have an event like Trans Pride in London, where we’re saying ‘these are our streets’ – it’s so important,” Fisher continues. “To be able to look after each other, have a safety net when the other safety nets have been pulled away from us.” Swipe through to see photos from the day.
