@themamachel: Some of you (male species) may never innerstand this because you will never be a mother. Another adult can see dishes stacked and think well they’re here may as well add to them. And never even consider how that pile of dirty dishes reached that level. I assure you it’s not because we like it. I assure you it’s because there’s 1000 tabs open and we are prioritizing what we can survive with in the present moment. Somehow the dog vomit gets to stay on the floor overnight because there were just too many other things of importance. Mothers are consistently “diagnosed” adhd because the unsupported nervous system will do its best to manage 10% of the load that is streaming through our brains. That one dish you decided you were too busy to wash- will cripple the nervous system of the mother. If you ask a mother what she needs throughout the day it will always be a clean kitchen. Because our entire existence is keeping tiny humans alive. We can only do that when chaos doesn’t live in the one place we spend the most time. For me- I can’t even begin to plan a meal with a dirty kitchen. My brain absolutely melts.
