@doscaras_tattoo: Wasn’t planning on ranting about tattoo needles today… but this surprised me. To clarify: I know exactly how tapers work. I know the Kwadron 18RL Long Taper isn’t the same needle as the Precision 14RL ELT. That’s not the point. The point is that I expected an 18RL to feel dramatically bigger, but in practice it produced a line that’s very similar to a much cheaper 14RL. One box costs $46. The other costs $17. I’m not saying Precision is better. I’m not saying Kwadron is bad. I’m saying don’t let branding convince you that paying nearly 3x more automatically means you’re getting 3x more performance. Learn what pin diameter, taper, and grouping actually do. Buy materials because they solve a problem—not because the logo tells you they’re premium. Tattooing is already expensive enough. Spend your money where it actually improves your work, not where it mainly improves a corporation’s profit margins. If a cheaper tool gives you the result you want, there’s nothing wrong with using it. Stop buying marketing. Start buying performance.
They're all made by the same factories in china. Just put in different packaging. Cartridges they just change the outer plastic part. Most of the companies are all owned by the same conglomerate now

Dude, RLT vs RL, or bold or standard or whatever each company calls it. The T stands for tight 🤣

not the same, you can see the solder jobs are clean on the whole pack on the Left and one on the right your only showing 2 and both have solder that isn't clean, all bunched on the tip and both where the needles meet the bar ,

the 18 has a tighter needle grouping. thats what the "T" mean. 18round liner, long taper, tight grouping. and your comparing that to 14 round liner standard grouping.

I’ll give Kwadron that they don’t have their stuff made in China at all, but the only reason the 14 round is the same size as that 18 is because Kwadron needles even their #12 are “bugpin” and precision are based off of traditional size needles, and they don’t disclose where they make theirs…
