This weekend, I attended several fiestas de palo, but I’m extremely selective about the spiritual spaces I enter. A proper feast-day celebration requires more than beautiful decorations, food and music—it requires order, respect and a genuine spiritual foundation. When the altar is prepared, the offerings are presented and the drums begin speaking, the spirits may come down through their horses to: ✨ Receive their offerings 🥁 Dance and celebrate 🚬 Smoke, drink and enjoy their feast 🧿 Cleanse and bless those present 🗣️ Deliver messages 🙏🏽 Thank the person who hosted the celebration This is sacred work before it is entertainment.
