I once had an 11/12 hour standing shift, and got scolded by an uncle. I offered him the seat after he pointed me out, but he said no need no need. Then continued to berate me for the rest of the trip. I’m quite traumatised to seat in special seats now (I was a 16 year old kid that was just tired)

They always think they're entitled to a seat. Don't other people get tired too? Giving up your seat is a kind gesture and a courtesy, but it's not compulsory.

So harassment and verbal abuse is ok as long you are an elderly and a person that looks like they do not need the seat can be scolded and harassed potentially assaulted (if escalated), otherwise why is this a common behaviour?

Lol, if the uncle had the energy to be so rude and use profanity, then it’s no surprise the youngster at the priority seat didn’t offer it to him. Respect goes both ways, regardless of age.
