Edible fantasy sounds horrible. So many adults are walking around with complex PTSD for a variety of reasons. Parents who focused on one child over the other, abuse, neglect, it shows up in unemployment, poor friend or partner, choices, depression, anxiety, substance abuse.

Chiron in Aries here, and I knew making a move from the States to Canada, to my paternal sides reserve where my Mom was accepted as well, was were I could get best mental health care. And after nearly 10 years of searching for support and answers, I received a C-PTSD diagnosis. With support from mental health professionals and a traditional healer who truly saw me and my history and the woman I was becoming; a true Indigenous healer 🥰

The dsm still does not recognize cptsd. While the icd does, those in America dealing with the healthcare system have a lack of practitioners who have any real skill in treating cptsd. Luckily books on internal family systems and emotion focused therapy exist, but the healthcare system seems to be stuck in Freudian analysis.

Dr. Judith Herman has been terribly eclipsed by VanderKolk. I saw her speak around 1994, where there was a HEAVY police presence bc of all the counter-protesterson the religious right who claimed she was "breaking up families." She received ☠️💀 threats & spoke in an incredibly tense environment. She needs more credit!
