I took the maximum tax-free lump sum at 55. You get 5 years more pension before 60. No one is promised tomorrow, so I took it while I could.

if we have to work until we're 67 then life expectancy is probably 67 plus 1 month 🙄🤦♀️😂 i know loads of nurses who have retired then become unwell 😞unachievable age

There’s doesn’t seem a huge difference between the two figures, I thought it would be more. On that basis I say 55 because enjoying retirement and life is my priority, I can make do with a bit less money as we don’t know how long we have on this earth
