Chicago police department doesn’t know how to handle anybody with a disability I can say that I am from Illinois myself and I have several disabilities myself.

OK, here’s my suggestion. And I gave the suggestion to a student who deaf when he got his license. Put a sticker in your window and on your car by your bumper or in the window of your car.. so that when you were pulled over an officer understands this and neither can call for back up with somebody who can sign. Or they know, and they might have some signing skills themselves. So that there’s no escalation or misunderstanding.. simple. Because it can be a very scary time for somebody who is hearing impaired.. and it can be a lot of miscommunication obviously with an officer. It is no different than having a handicap placard on the car itself license plate..
