@pointedbyjared: The combination of the Amex Gold and the Bilt Palladium is one of the best two card combinations on the planet, and here's why both cards should be in your wallet if they aren't already. Both cards pay for themselves before you earn a single point. The Bilt Palladium is $495, with a $400 Bilt Travel hotel credit and $200 in Bilt Cash every year. That's $600 against the fee. The Gold is $325, with up to $424 in annual credits across Uber Cash, dining, Resy, and Dunkin'. Enrollment required. The credits cover it. Everything on top is profit. And the way these two earn is what makes them a pair. The Bilt Palladium keeps everyday spend simple: 2X on every purchase, no categories to track. Where it gets interesting is housing. Almost no card rewards your rent or mortgage. The Palladium does, and you earn points on it no matter which setup you pick. All that changes is how you unlock them. Take up to 1.25X directly on your rent or mortgage, scaled to how much you run through the card. Or earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend and redeem that toward points on your housing. Either way, the biggest check you write every month finally earns. The Gold covers your food: ✅ 4X on dining worldwide ✅ 4X at U.S. supermarkets ✅ 5X on prepaid hotels through Amex Travel ✅ 3X on flights booked direct or through Amex Travel ✅ 1X on everything else Dining and groceries are where most people spend the most, and the Gold hits 4X on both. Both cards also feed Rakuten. It's a cash back shopping portal, but link your account and take your payout in points instead of cash. Amex converts to Membership Rewards, Bilt converts to Bilt points, your choice of which to build. And since the Palladium keeps you at Bilt Gold status, your cash back converts at the top rate: 100 Bilt points per dollar. New to Rakuten? Sign up through the link in my bio and get 5,000 bonus points just for joining. Put it together and your rent, groceries, dinners, and online shopping all earn at once, across two of the strongest transferable currencies out there. The Gold takes your food. The Palladium takes your housing and everything else at 2X. Nothing you spend is left at 1X. Want both in your wallet? My referral links for the Amex Gold and the Bilt Palladium are in my bio. Follow for more tips to supercharge your points accumulation, elevate your travel, and let's work smarter — not harder. 🚀 #PointsAndMiles #CreditCard #CreditCardPoints #Amex #Bilt

Idk how the Amex gold pays for itself. I am not going to go out of my way to spend $7 at Dunkin, $10 isn’t enough for a meal at 5 Guys or Bdubbs, and the $10 uber credit is a joke.

I’m tempted to get the Bilt Palladium but I don’t think I can trust Bilt long term. They change their cards too often for me to rely on their current system. I’m leaning towards getting the Citi Strata elite instead, any thoughts on that?

Bilt doesn’t like me and wouldn’t approve me even with over 750 score 😭 so I got Venture X as a catch all card instead but woulda loved to get a palladium 🤷♂️

I wish it wasn’t so complicated not only to set things up to pay my mortgage but to deal with using the built cash to earn the points.

How is the AmEx Delta SkyMiles Reserve card? I usually only fly Delta, so I like the idea of getting points through this card. Any thoughts?

My wife and I both have the sapphire reserve card and I was thinking it may be a waste that we have the same card. Should I have my wife keep the chase card and I get this combo? We can make each other authorized users

Thoughts on using the palladium for everything (including dining). With the 4% Bilt cash it comes out to 3.3x on everything which is obviously less than 4x on the gold but still strong
