The WORST part of all of this is you don’t realize they are an avoidant until you already fallen for them. Letting them go get so much harder at that point.

100% right. Exactly what happened. I saw it as a red flag but looked past it cause it seemed so real. Thought we were falling in love. And once I did, the switch happened.

It’s a horrible way to breakup. She broke up with me via text. It’s showed me her true colors. I thought we were doing great and boom she just went dark on me.

Ok but what’s it mean when he discarded me, I became very anxious wanting closure and he blocked me then boom unblocked me on Facebook and now is steady watching my stories

Once you meet someone who has on and off switch, do yourself a favor and remove yourself, that is called self love because avoidants are not special than yourself... I thank you

I’ve never heard someone describe exactly how I feel & perceive things until now. Isolation always feels safer but it’s not really what I want..

Avoidants protect their comfort, vulnerability and options. It’s childish and selfish, move on. They refuse to face their wound so they will waste your time if you let them.

This is insanely accurate. I didn’t even know these styles existed until it happened to me. In my case they have genuinely stepped up and we have had multiple conversations about communication and we have been able to meet in the middle for the most part. They still ghost randomly when they are at capacity in other aspects of life but it’s very short and less frequent compared to how it was before. Also in my case, when I pull back slightly they instantly notice and will lean in pretty hard but it has taken me and continues to take me a lot to get use to pulling back. I’ve been much better and it’s been easier to do but as an anxious person it’s hard to be consistent when anxiety is stupor day to day. I’m grateful at least for me they do show up and they do try instead of just leaving or letting distance grow.
