She wanted to die. I wish they would just let her go. Keeping her here to torture her with these legal proceedings is just cruel. I don't normally feel sympathetic to people who hurt kids, but she tried so desperately to get help. This whole situation is heartbreaking.

He should be blamed. He KNEW about her condition! Any and all items that could be used as weapons should have been removed from the home. Postpartum psychosis has to be taken seriously but isn’t

Patrick’s testimony has been gut wrenching. It’s clear this case has left unimaginable trauma all around. I just feel people are letting hindsight do all the heavy lifting. Should he have left her alone with the kids? Clearly not. However a tragic outcome doesn’t automatically mean someone knew it was going to happen or committed a crime. Looks like there isn’t any evidence he knowingly ignored a clear medical directive.

I'm sick to my stomach with this case bc I'm terrified that if they don't see PPP and PPD for what they are, we'll lose all hope of women getting help and ever being taken seriously. She was failed by so many healthcare professionals and while there needs to be accountability, there needs to be change more than anything. My heart goes out to her and her family. Devastating all around.
