@goingawesomeplaces: TO THE CHOPPER // Our very first flight on a helicopter just so happened to be in Zambia as whisked us away from Jeki Airstrip in Lower Zambezi National Park back to Lusaka to make our second connection to Musekese Camp in Kafue National Park. We’d be honest in saying that we were a bit nervous about our first heli flight EVER but Sumeet was an excellent pilot. The experience was not only smooth but stunning as well, gliding over the national park with wildlife below which then transitioned to the mountain range which totally gave me Top Gun Maverick vibes, following the snaking river below. As with all Sky Trails flights, they had a cooler full of goodies including fruits, chips, chocolate bars, and drinks. Our domestic flights don’t even come with these anymore. When I stepped off the chopper, I just remember saying “now that’s gotta be the best way to get to your safari camp !” Love how closely Classic Zambia Safaris works with Sky Trails to make the travel so easy and seamless. The helicopter flight is an optional add-on but if you’re looking for a special memory for one of your legs, make sure to ask for it!
