If anyone needed an example ^ Lindsay Clancy case is one of the few genuine cases I’ve ever saw of true insanity and mental illness. It’s a tragedy for all involved.

Her medical team gets to keep their license, her husband gets to have a life with a new woman to ignore. While she spends her life knowing that no matter how many times she asked for help it was for nothing. She is guilty. But so is everyone around her. Those babies deserved justice.

If the situation was reversed and she left her kids with her husband who was in active psychosis and had expressed suicidal and homicidal intent, the world would want her tarred and feathered. They’d blame her for leaving the kids with him. So either way women are blamed for men’s actions or lack of action.

Lindsay Clancy was in the throes of postpartum psychosis. People who have not experienced PP depression or PP psychosis have literally no clue what happens to women and how out of control you are. Mental health meds often can have negative reactions with people under NORMAL circumstances. They’re not one size fits all, and can exacerbate the mental health condition it was aimed to treat. Lindsay Clancy was failed by the medical system and her husband. If she is now properly medicated and sane, that is punishment enough. She will live every day knowing she killed her kids while she was mentally unwell and it could have been prevented had anyone properly helped her.

For people who haven’t experienced postpartum psychosis is easy to judge her and say she deserves a horrible verdict… you’ve never walked with her shoes… Her asking 51 times for help and being completely ignored and being found guilty breaks my heart.

she made 51 calls to the cops for help - they ignored all of them. she made several attempts to get help from medical professionals - she wasnt taken seriously and was given sedatives instead of help when they knew shed be alone with 3 kids all day (aka immediate set up for neglect since sedated people are not capable of caring for other adults much less 3 children). her husband saw everything that was happening with her - he neglected it and belittled her when she begged for help. she tried everything she possibly could but was left to either keep spiraling or be sedated 24/7 and neglectful which wouldve eventually had the same outcome. she needs long term inpatient mental support - this was quite literally a textbook case of insanity. and every single professional that handled her case - from the 51 calls to the police to the countless attempts for medical professionals to help her including the inpatient psychiatric care that she was denied - needs to be held responsible for their utter neglect that ultimately led to this situation. she will live with this forever, the least they can do is recognize this as what it is: legitimate insanity that needs long term psychiatric care.

She was in a HORMONE induced psychosis & had told him countless times she was having intrusive thoughts about harming the kids & doctors told him not to leave her alone with the kids & he CHOSE to leave her alone to get dinner. Y'all, this is where the phrase "two things can be true at once" comes in. On one hand, she was extremely mentally ill and it's because of that illness that she killed her kids. That's not an excuse for her actions as murder is absolutely inexcusable. HOWEVER, on the other hand, she still KILLED HER CHILDREN. She should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, same as any other mentally ill serial killer.
