I wish more women would listen to this without their ego getting in the way. When women like us tell you these things , a lot of them think it doesn’t apply to them for one reason or the other but they don’t realize that even a simple act of talking about this gets us ostracized and we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t really care about the plight of women.

I was married young and gave up my entire life for that man too. Until I found myself. I began studying & I met a younger man. We had a wild affair and it was amazing! Now I’m so happily single, have 3 beautiful adult kids and am living a good life, away from those life takers…

Yep, my friend who has kids at 22 was saying now in her mid 30s (he ran off with someone younger and left her with 3 kids btw) that she doeesnt have a dress style, she never got time/money to develop and experiment with changing up styles and collecting clothes that arnt comfort mummy clothes. It's really sad.

"What if you die first?" This is exactly what happened with my husband's grandma. His grandparents had a miserable, contentious marriage and the grandpa cheated on her countless times, but she counted on outliving him and finally being able to enjoy her old age after he was gone. Guess who died first? I never met either of them but my husband always tells me how smart she was and how she had a rich social life, but that miserable marriage really impacted her health and quality of life.

I am 57, in a good marriage (after several years of him in therapy & couples therapy) but I sit here and wonder who I could have been if I’d had a voice like yours in my life. I married hs “sweetheart” at 19 (he was 5yrs older than me ftr), divorced after abuse at 23, married again at 25, divorced again after 2 kids and being a SAHM for 13 years )due to rampant infidelity). I had dreams & plans. Not that I have regrets about my kids, but fuck…I wanted to live in Europe & work in museums, I had a full ride scholarship with a path to study abroad & I gave it up because I didn’t believe in myself & I was convinced that some guy loved me & I would never have another chance at that. The only people who tried to talk me out of getting married were my parents & I didn’t listen. Anyway, I sincerely hope young women listen to your voice because it’s so important.

My ex tried to say that the reason he left my senior dog out in 115 degree heat that ended up in him having heatstroke and dying a week later, was because that morning he realized he was depressed……… something I had been telling him he should go to therapy for and recommending books and podcasts to listen to about. Suddenly that day he decided he was actually depressed and needed therapy and it just happened to coincide with him fking up majorly…. Using depression as a fking shield like Jen’s husband, it’s despicable
