People say it’s 100% Touy’s fault but Endeavor literally MADE Touya want to be the best. And when Endeavor realized Touya couldn’t live up to his dream, he stopped showing him the love that Touya relied on to feel any type of self worth because his father never showed him any “love” other than when he made him proud with his fire. I hate when people forget that Touya didn’t just start out like this. Endeavor IS to blame but SO is Touya.

comment section really missing some sympathy. Touya needed love and support for his mental health but his dad was abusive and his mom a victim. mental breakdowns can snowball until logic is non-existent. he was a CHILD and every CHILD is unique in their own experience.

everyone defending endeavor and blaming touya has a fundamental misunderstanding of their dynamic. Endeavor was the adult. It was HIS responsibility to take care of Touya. Sure he told him over and over to stop because he was burning himself, but it was clear Touya was suffering from severe mental health issues likely brought on by his father abruptly not paying attention to him anymore and no longer believing in him. Endeavor should've gotten Touya therapy. Should've sat with him and given him attention rather than telling him to stop and ignoring him. Touya watched as his father started looking for signs in all of his siblings that they could replace Touya. That's DEVASTATING to a kid that age. One day having all your father's attention and praise to suddenly having the dreams you were encouraged to have squashed over and over. Endeavor was rich. He could've done MANY things to help Touya including mental healthcare and quirk healthcare. He could've taken the time to look into support devices or medicine that would help his son because Touya clearly still had the passion. But he didn't. He didn't want to wait and he didn't want to take the difficult path with Touya. He wanted a quick and easy path. He tried to smother all of Touya's passions without redirection instead of seeing how he could support them in a way that was safe for his son. Touya was a CHILD struggling with emotional regulation. Endeavor was responsible for him. And I cannot stand when people try to excuse parents for not being responsible for their children. They brought their kids into the world. The kid didn't ask to be born.

People either hate Dabi or blame endeavor. The truth is both and none are to blame. They never understood each other. Endeavor never understood why Dabi was so desperate to prove himself and Dabi never understood why endeavor wanted him to stop hurting himself. It’s just tragic for a reason.
