@fit.mom.carlyn: This is a description of what a high effort. Person‘s life looks like, and these are the types of things that you want to work towards in your own life. #christiantiktok #women #mom #life #Lifestyle
I really appreciate all of your videos + your page!! I am the “black sheep” of the family- I align more with you than I do my parents world view… I mention that because you remind me that nothings wrong with me- my parents and I are just different people with different values.

Someone that doesn’t need to be told what to do, polish, making an effort to say hi to everyone at church or whatever, it’s Godly

I never thought of myself as a high effort person, after this video, I think I might be lol. I have a "I could always be better" mindset.

Do you have an advice when kids are really young? I try my best to be high effort in all areas but definitely feel like I’m falling behind in many areas 😅

This was an incredible answer. Thank you very much. I realize if I was more of a high effort person in other areas it would only improve and make it easier to show up for my kids. Thank you!!

My mother was very demanding and considered herself high effort. Nothing was ever good enough. My brother and i pity her, but also despise her. Took me a while to stop micromanaging and optimizing. But i did it. In Denmark kids are taught early to find their own way by themselves. Parents watch from a distance and only interfere when absolutely necessary. In 99% they turn out just fine. It is a society based on trust not suspicion. Being average is considered good, but the standard for average here is very high.

Now that your oldest is an adult does she see and appreciate all the extra things you did to support her with her fitting in, or is it one of those things that is still kind of unnoticed (not in a mean way but just in a not realizing it way)

Love this video! I was just having a conversation with my husband that it is exhausting being a high effort mom :/ ( kids aged 7,4,1.5) . However, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
