Do you have an advice when kids are really young? I try my best to be high effort in all areas but definitely feel like I’m falling behind in many areas 😅

My mother was very demanding and considered herself high effort. Nothing was ever good enough. My brother and i pity her, but also despise her. Took me a while to stop micromanaging and optimizing. But i did it. In Denmark kids are taught early to find their own way by themselves. Parents watch from a distance and only interfere when absolutely necessary. In 99% they turn out just fine. It is a society based on trust not suspicion. Being average is considered good, but the standard for average here is very high.

Now that your oldest is an adult does she see and appreciate all the extra things you did to support her with her fitting in, or is it one of those things that is still kind of unnoticed (not in a mean way but just in a not realizing it way)
