they asked me like 5 times why im getting payments from a certain person, and every time I reply thats my grandma I do her amazon orders cos shes senile, then they ask me again why this person is sending me money 🤦♀️

I will say I got told not to purchase luxuries on my UC review. I’d spent £50 in JD sports buying two children a pair of trainers each. These are their only pair of trainers. I also work full time so I was a bit annoyed to be told I shouldn’t be shopping for essentials in JD 🙄.

Can they investigate you if a) you transfer money from one of your accounts to another(for example I have to transfer from one account to another because I cannot pay on line with the account my UC is paid into and b) I have a friend who regularly borrows money then bank transfers it back to me.

If uc gets paid into your bank they already know what goes in and out of your bank they know without asking for bank statements

I have just had my first review, they asked for 4 months full bank statements, proof of tenancy, council tax bill and a utility bill. I sent them all the info and then had a 30 min telephone appointment. I am a single mum of 2, 1 of my kids has a life long medical condition and I also care for my step mother who has dementia. I was really worried but was all good as I am a genuine and honest person. I think they are right to review things as there are lots of people who take the mick.
