Regression is when a child suddenly struggles with something they used to do without much trouble. Sometimes it’s temporary and can happen after stress, illness, changes in routine, or because of sensory overload.
The best thing to do is stay patient, go back to smaller steps, practice a little at a time, and let your child’s doctor or therapist know if it continues. Every child is different, and with the right support, many children regain those skills.💙

Mia 🐞 :
I bought a little play set from dollar tree so we can practice at home. Slow progress but I think it’s working. He wouldn’t even let them brush and now he does, still no X-rays but we will get there one day.

Whewwwww.. it’s been a journey .. It gets better everytime . Still a struggle for mine. My son started going to the dentist at 1 & is now 4. We switched dentist offices one time so far. The one we have now has experience with dealing with diversity . I feel like our current dentist office has been working in our favor. A lot of progress, but still a struggle. Due to sensory concerns, I feel like the dentist will forever be an uncomfortable place. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

My son is 20 he now wants to pop off out of the chair while his teeth are being cleaned or he wants to grab the dental hygienist arm, he was never like this but lately the past 2 visits he has. It helps with having the same hygienist work on him.
